The Fueled by Purpose Marketplace elevates female-founded businesses that are addressing social issues and supporting a variety of causes. This week’s featured founder is Selma Siddig of FenZoul Gallery.
FenZoul Gallery aims to preserve, leverage and amplify the voices and talents of communities of color through art. Its mission is focused on representation and filling the gap in an art world that lacks diversity and positive images from underrepresented artist communities. Since its founding in 2017, FenZoul Gallery has grown its collective to include artists from the U.S. and abroad who create ethnic- and culture-inspired artwork. Its portfolio is curated from a number of emerging and mid-career artists who carefully preserve tradition, creating contemporary pieces that evoke feelings of nostalgia and a bygone era.
FenZoul Gallery donates a portion of the proceeds from each sale to organizations supporting social justice. As buyers complete their art purchase, they choose which organization they’d like the donation to support.
Featured Product: “Fever Dervish” Original Painting (Matted and Framed)
“The whirling dervish is captured in a tranquil and attentive state with his garb wildly spinning in vivid motion. Even though the features of his face are not visible, the details from an aerial view show a focused and careful body disposition, intricately layered folds and creases of his garment; his head resting on angle to ’empty’ his mind of all distractions, ready to perfect his meditation with mind, soul and body aligned in complete harmony.”
This is an original piece painted using acrylic on board; it is matted and framed with an off-white frame and measures 14″ x 14″ (artwork measures approximately 7″ x 7″).
